RESIDENCY

About the Residency

PATI’s Residency Programme in Jodhpur brings contemporary artistic practice into dialogue with the city’s rich ecosystems of craft, heritage and community knowledge. Rooted in PATI’s wider curatorial vision across Jaipur Arts Week and SITE Jodhpur, the residency encourages meaningful collaboration with local artisans and traditions. Typically spanning four to six weeks, the residency is hosted at the House of Premchand in Joshpur’s historic walled city. Supported through research, field visits, introductions to craft practitioners and on-ground coordination, residents engage deeply with the region’s living knowledge systems. The programme fosters thoughtful exchanges between contemporary art and traditional practices, culminating in opportunities for presentation at SITE Jodhpur.

PATI’s residency programme builds international and transdisciplinary collaborations through partnerships with institutions such as Institut Francais en Inde, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in India, and Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur, enabling artists to engage with Jodhpur’s cultural, scientific and community contexts while developing new, research-driven bodies of work.
